Am Anfang des ersten Tracks meines neuen Albums (das am 21. September erscheint) stand – wie so oft – eine Frage: Was wäre wenn…
Mir ist aufgefallen, wie oft wir mit Tatsachen hadern und uns die Macht wünschen, sie zu ändern. Als wären wir ohnmächtig. Und als ob wir nur einen Umstand ändern könnten, und alles andere bliebe dabei gleich. So führte eine Zeile zur nächsten. Drei Strophen. Drei Perspektiven. Gestaltungsmacht. Verantwortung. Und Delegation dieser Macht.
Dies ist kein Glaubensbekenntnis meinerseits. Glaube ist für mich der Lückenbüsser zwischen dem, was ist und der Hoffnung darauf, dass sich etwas zum Besseren wenden könnte beziehungsweise zwischen dem, was ich weiss und dem, von dem ich gerne hätte, dass es so ist. Insofern ertappe ich mich selbst dann und wann beim Glauben…
GOD wirft aber ganz andere Fragen auf, um zu zeigen, dass wir nicht machtlos sind, sondern durchaus auch gestalten können. Um zu zeigen, dass Macht nicht einfach nur grossartig, sondern eben auch mit viel Verantwortung verbunden ist (oder sein sollte, liebe Politiker:innen!). Um zu zeigen, dass Macht geteilt werden kann – zum Beispiel als Eltern – bei WOULD YOU EMPOWER THE ONES YOU CREATED? Und alles führt zur Frage: WOULD YOU TRUST YOUR JOB TO SOMEONE LIKE YOU?
Wie bei fast all meinen Songs habe ich auch bei GOD alles selbst eingespielt und produziert. So gut ich es eben kann. Ich freue mich, wenn ihr euch den Track (und alle kommenden) anhört und mir vielleicht ein kurzes oder langes Feedback gebt.

At the beginning of the first track on my new album (which will probably be released soon), there was – as so often – a question: What if…
I noticed how often we struggle with facts and wish we had the power to change them. As if we were powerless. And as if we could change only one circumstance, and everything else would remain the same. So one line led to the next. Three verses. Three perspectives. Creative power. Responsibility. And delegation of this power.
This is not a profession of faith on my part. For me, faith or believing is the gap filler between what is and the hope that something could change for the better, between what I know and what I would like to be the case. In this respect, I occasionally find myself believing…
But GOD raises completely different questions to show that we are not powerless, but can indeed shape things. To show that power is not just great, but also comes with a lot of responsibility (or should, dear politicians!). To show how power can be shared – for example as parents – in WOULD YOU EMPOWER THE ONES YOU CREATED? And it all leads to the question: WOULD YOU TRUST YOUR JOB TO SOMEONE LIKE YOU?
