Ja, sicher: Wie sich die Situation im Kleinen wie im Grossen immer mehr zuspitzt, die Konflikte, die Krisen, die Regierungen, die Lage auf dem Jobmarkt und was uns sonst noch alles bedroht, hat das Potenzial, unbändigen Weltschmerz auszulösen. Dagegen kommen auch allerlei Anti-Histamin- und Schmerzpillen nicht an. Was bleibt, ist unsere seelische Widerstandsfähigkeit – besungen in LAST QUESTION.
Dieser Song, vor allem die letzten zwei Zeilen, standen von Anfang an als Schluss meines neuen Albums fest. Und ich habe sie – ganz am Ende des Songs – auch als allererstes aufgenommen. Ich hoffe, mein Plan einer Art paradoxen Intervention geht auf. Gewidmet ist das Lied… du weisst schon, wen ich meine 🙂

Yes, of course: as the situation escalates on both a small and large scale, the conflicts, the crises, the governments, the situation on the job market and everything else that threatens us has the potential to trigger uncontrollable world-weariness. Even all kinds of antihistamines and painkillers cannot combat this. What remains is our mental resilience – celebrated in LAST QUESTION.
This song, especially the last two lines, was always intended to be the finale of my new album. And I recorded it – at the very end of the song – as the very first track. I hope my plan for a kind of paradoxical intervention works. The song is dedicated to… you know who I mean 🙂
